YULA HISTORY
The Story of Yula
The Bronx-located company began in 1926 as Yula Water Heaters and later became Yula Corporation. It is now in its third generation of family ownership and management. Yula designs and manufactures a variety of shell-and-tube heat exchangers and other pressure vessels in a wide range of materials. Today, Yula is a recognized international leader in its industry, holding numerous certifications for national and international codes/standards.
Still located in the Bronx, Yula is a reminder of how New York City was once a great manufacturing hub. To still be recognized nationally and internationally as a quality manufacturer in the heart of New York City after 90 years is a notable accomplishment, of which the company is very proud.
Yula Corporation gets its name from its founder, Henry Yula. The Feldman Family has owned and operated Yula since 1970. Irwin Feldman, along with his two sons, Larry and Fred grew the company from its commercial/HVAC roots in the 1960s to industrial markets in the 1970s. The company was able to distinguish itself as a high quality supplier to the chemical process market in the 70s and 80s and eventually defined itself as a quality designer and manufacturer of sanitary heat exchangers for the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. Today, the company is considered a global leader in sanitary heat exchangers.
Fred’s sons, Jason and Michael, and Larry’s son, Matthew, make up the third generation of Feldmans continuing the company’s great legacy of quality designed and manufactured product.
